Caye Caulker Village is the only “town” on Caye Caulker. It consists mainly of a beachfront strip with three horizontal passageways, nicknamed Front Street, Back Street, and Back Back Street, with intersecting connections. The general look is very retro, with a touch of raggea. A number of colorful buildings–eateries, bars, and tourist accommodations–are spread along the beach. Music emanates from several of them, adding to the island’s Caribbean charm.

“Go Slow” is the local slogan–good advice to take given the heat and humidity most days. Relaxation is the order of the day, reflected in the creative and comfortable seating along the beach and in several of the eateries– including tables with oversized swings as seats and Adirondack chairs made into swings.
Hammocks line the beach, some first come first serve, and others available to lounge in for a nominal fee. Adding even more color is a multi-colored party boat that offers snorkeling and sunset cruises.
